I know that’s a big promise to live up to. But I believe in OVER-delivering on my promises and commitments… especially to you guys, my fantastic English students.

So let’s get going shall we…..

Let me start by explaining what ACCOUNTABILITY actually means?

So how does this relate to learning excellent English speaking skills in super quick time?

It’s quite simple…. let me explain.

You need to find someone that will hold you accountable – maybe it’s someone similar to yourself who is trying to learn how to speak English. You need to be able to share with them your dreams and aspirations – why is it that you want to learn how to speak excellent English….

For example….“I want to be a fluent English speaker in 6 months because I want to land my dream job at the a multi-national company” OR “I must become an excellent English speaker so I can move to the USA in 12 months with my family”.

Do you get the point? You need to define your ‘end game’ in a certain timeframe.

Once you have shared your goal with your new Accountability Partner, you are ready to begin the process.

Once every week, you will set up a 30 minute discussion (telephone or in person) and ask each other the following questions:

It’s nothing more than that! And trust me, this process works. Don’t ask me why, it just does.

Remember learning how to speak excellent English is much more than having excellent learning methods and excellent lessons. It’s also making sure that YOU are doing what you committed to do. Making yourself accountable to someone else who has similar goals is a fantastic way of realizing your English dreams!

Your next task is to go and find your Accountability Partner. Think carefully about the person you select. It needs to be someone that you can trust, be open with and ultimately, be accountable to!

Now, more than any other post, I want you to really follow through on everything I’ve told you. This may just be your single biggest missing element to your English speaking success. So I want you to tell me in the comments section below that you are COMMITTED to this and also to tell me how you are getting on!

It’s to let you know that I’ve just added a new page to the main Spoken English Online website – it’s my new FAQ Page. If you don’t know FAQ is a common English acronym (where you replace a phrase with just the first letters of each word) for ‘Frequently Asked Questions’.

You see I’ve been getting a lot of questions and I thought I would save a bit of time for both of us by providing you with clear and comprehensive questions that are asked.

Most questions that I get asked are around one of two things:

• My 6-free lessons.
• My Inspired English Program.

Please take a look at the FAQ page and let me know if there are any other questions that I should add to the page…. and I will provide the answers as soon as I can.

There’s nothing worse that getting something new (wither free or purchased) and it’s NOT what you’re expecting! That’s such a huge disappointment. So hopefully, my new FAQ Page, together we can make sure that the teaching and lessons and methods that I provide you are 100% clear.

• Learn word lists.

• Read an English class textbook.

And looking back, I don’t think any of it actually helped me. It was so frustrating. I know that classroom students of any language are taught these methods still today…. And it makes me literally mad! I don’t why the schools, colleges and the teachers don’t just wake up to the fact that the results that they are getting are…… very poor!

 Student Dissatisfaction – Student Drop-Out – Student Frustration

That’s what you get with typical traditional English classroom teaching.

The only reason why anyone would put themselves through it is because they don’t know any better… that means you’re in a fortunate position. YOU DO KNOW that traditional English teaching methods simply do not work.

Just think of all the millions and millions of people trying to learn how to speak excellent English AND you are one of the very few thousands of people that knows that you shouldn’t be memorizing word lists; you shouldn’t be learning grammar rules; and you shouldn’t be learning to speak English from a textbook.

Just think of the advantage that gives you in life. Are you taking advantage of the fact that can learning English quickly and easily by:

• Learning phrases AND NOT words to improve your vocabulary.
• Listening and watching English AND NOT reading English.
• Listening to conversations again and again.

So the next time your teacher asks you to learn the past, present and future tense of the verb ‘to have’. Tell them that there is a better and infinitely more fun way to learn grammar….

The next time your teacher asks you to learn words, tell them that you learn phrases to improve your vocabulary AND NOT words.

And finally, the next time your English teacher asks you why you can understand English conversations better than anyone else, why not show them QUICKFIRE.

Listen, my point to all this is the following. It’s so easy to do the same as everyone else…. Learn verbs, words, English rules… all from a textbook. My philosophy in life has always been slightly different – to do the exact opposite as everyone else. That’s why I love these incredible English rules  so much – they make UNCOMMON SENSE…. And perhaps even more importantly, they ACTUALLY WORK!

The proof? My students keep telling me that they do!

Today I want to briefly talk about something which is vitally important in helping your English training.

This one thing is almost certainly the difference between those that achieve success and those that make excuses as to why they didn’t quite make it.

That one thing is…

Get Started and Create a Habit Around your English Speaking Training

If you make a decision to purchase a new product or start a new training, it is vitally important that you get started within the first 24 hours.

As English people say, “you must strike while the iron’s hot” – that’s a great English idiom.

If you immediately take action when you start something fresh, it is more likely to become a habit. Creating a new habit takes time. It is something that you need to learn so it becomes a natural activity for you.

“If habitual daily use isn’t established from the start, the end is nigh”

How many times have you thought, “I really want to speak English so I can get that new job. “ Only to then tell yourself, “I’m busy this week, so I’m going to get started next week.” Well guess what happens, by the time the following week comes around something is else is on your mind and you never get started.

So if you have a goal of speaking excellent English, then I have news for you my friend. You MUST get started today. It may only be something small, but take action – make one small step. To force the habit forming process, allocate a specific time every day to your English training. It may just be 15 minutes a day to start with… the time is not the important thing here. It’s the taking action so you create the habit.

If you don’t get start within 72 hours of signing-up for my 6 Secret Lessons or after buying The Inspired English Program, you’re unlikely to ever get started. That’s a very sobering thought.

I hope this short post has energized you!

Inspired English Program Membership Website Redesign

I’ve never been happy with the software platform I’ve been using for the Inspired English Program, so I’ve asked my IT team to change it to something better….. and the new membership site is going to be really cool – with much easier navigation, the ability to download the video trainings (as well as the audio and PDFs).

Tom (my top IT guy) said he would get this finished in about a week. So for you Inspired English Program members out there, you’re in for a real treat. And if you’re not a member, you’ve got something incredible to look forward to once you’ve purchased the program.

I will write a post about the new membership site once it’s closer to completion. 

Revamped Facebook Page

Facebook has just exploded over the past 12 months. There’s so much activity going on over there. I’ve decided to spend a lot more time interacting with my Facebook fans – it’s a great way to build an English speaking community for all of us.

Instead, I believe some of the important lessons you need to succeed to be an incredible English speaker are:

2. Forget boring and traditional teaching methods you learned in the classroom. They simply do not work. They focus too much onreading and writing…. and not enough on listening and listening and speaking and speaking. You must have heard about my “6 Secret Lessons in Inspired English“. My students love these methods. It really helps them with their English speaking development.
3. With great methods (my 6 Secret Lessons in Inspired English), you also need lessons. You need a great English speaking course that is affordable, uses methods that work; and provides plenty of lessons that help you understand through listening and speaking. 4. Now, although Steps ’1′, ’2′ & ’3′ are important to your spoken English success, they are only tools to help you with Step ’4′. This is by far the most important step. Without committing to this step, you won’t get anywhere. You will never become an excellent English speaking unless you do this……

You must spend at least 30 minutes every day listening to and speaking English (using the right methods and the right lessond) – I don’t mean every other day, not once a week…. I MEAN EVERY DAY!

Make it a habit. Make it a part of your success itual every simple day. If you want to be great at English speaking you must practice English speaking. Get ADDICTED to speaking English. Get obsessive with English speaking… every single day, with no exception.

Think about it… the greatest sportsmen and sportswomen that ever lived. Do you think they became the greatest at what they do by chance?

It’s So Easy To Get Started Tomorrow…….

It could be starting a new English training program OR making that important phone call to a friend you have not spoken to for years OR kick starting your new healthy eating and exercise regime OR ……

But What Are You Going To Do Today?

If you wait for tomorrow then the inevitable happens. Tomorrow never comes. It never happens. Tomorrow becomes someday….. And there’s only one guarantee with someday….. it simply never happens.

Think seriously about that for a minute. Life is about living NOW. It’s about the journey. You need to enjoy that journey to it’s fullest. It’s not about being just becoming happy when you have finally reached your goals.

That is ‘someday syndrome’….  and as I said there’s only one guarantee with someday…. it simply never happens.

So What Are You Going To Do Today To Improve Your English Speaking?

I don’t mean tomorrow. I really DO mean today. What are you going to do RIGHT NOW to improve your English speaking? Here are a few ideas which may help…..

1. Understand the reaon why YOU MUST learn to speak English. Here’s a favourite phrase of mine….. “Speaking English fluently is not the end game. It’s your GOLDEN TICKET to fulfill your dreams. Unless you know your REASON WHY, and that it is an absolute MUST, you won’ get past GO!” If you don’t know your reason why, Step ‘1’ is to read my FREE report called “SuperCharge Your English Skeaking”. 2. Do you have a written plan of what practice you must do every day to get to the English speaking level that provides you with the confidence to ‘change your world’. Do you stick to your plan every day? If not, why not. What are those little things that are stopping you from getting to where you want to get to? Spend 30 minutes right now writing down your daily plan. Write down the obstacles you have on a daily basis that stop you practicing. What are you going to do? Are you going to let those small obstacles become the VERY REASON as to why you DON’T succeed in developing excellent English speaking skills.
3. Who are you accountable to? Who knows what you are trying to achieve by learning to speak excellent English. If you keep it to yourself, then you are only accountable to yourself. That often leads to failure because it’s so easy to make excuses to yourself. It’s not so easy to make excuses to someone else though. Do you have a friend or member of the family who you can be accountable to? – someone that you can tell your dreams and goals and problems and frustrations; someone that can motivate and inspire you when you are having difficulties with your English learning. I know from experience that having a ‘mentor’ can be the difference between success and failure. Which do you choose?
4. If you have already completed my free “6 Secret Lessons in Inspired English” e-course, you know that my teaching methods are not typical….. but I know that they work. And my students keep telling me that they work. What training material are you using? Is it the BEST TRAINING METHODS to help you speak English quickly, easily and naturally…..
