Commit at Least 30 Minutes Every Day to Develop Your English Speaking

Instead, I believe some of the important lessons you need to succeed to be an incredible English speaker are:

Know why you want to speak excellent English. What’s that one powerful reason that drives you? If you’ve not read it already, download this great free report called “SuperCharge Your English Speaking” to help you define your ‘REASON WHY’.
Forget boring and traditional teaching methods you learned in the classroom. They simply do not work. They focus too much onreading and writing…. and not enough on listening and listening and speaking and speaking. You must have heard about my “6 Secret Lessons in Inspired English“. My students love these methods. It really helps them with their English speaking development.

You must spend at least 30 minutes every day listening to and speaking English (using the right methods and the right lessond) – I don’t mean every other day, not once a week…. I MEAN EVERY DAY!

Make it a habit. Make it a part of your success itual every simple day. If you want to be great at English speaking you must practice English speaking. Get ADDICTED to speaking English. Get obsessive with English speaking… every single day, with no exception.

Think about it… the greatest sportsmen and sportswomen that ever lived. Do you think they became the greatest at what they do by chance?

It’s So Easy To Get Started Tomorrow…….

Do you have a written plan of what practice you must do every day to get to the English speaking level that provides you with the confidence to ‘change your world’. Do you stick to your plan every day? If not, why not. What are those little things that are stopping you from getting to where you want to get to? Spend 30 minutes right now writing down your daily plan. Write down the obstacles you have on a daily basis that stop you practicing. What are you going to do? Are you going to let those small obstacles become the VERY REASON as to why you DON’T succeed in developing excellent English speaking skills.
Who are you accountable to? Who knows what you are trying to achieve by learning to speak excellent English. If you keep it to yourself, then you are only accountable to yourself. That often leads to failure because it’s so easy to make excuses to yourself. It’s not so easy to make excuses to someone else though. Do you have a friend or member of the family who you can be accountable to? – someone that you can tell your dreams and goals and problems and frustrations; someone that can motivate and inspire you when you are having difficulties with your English learning. I know from experience that having a ‘mentor’ can be the difference between success and failure. Which do you choose?

Hi guys, it’s Jack here. As promised here’s the second post of The English Show. Today I’ll be sharing with you not 1, but 3 (!) videos to help you learn excellent English.

Top Of the Class But…..

…… Can’t Understand an English Conversation?

Are you able to memorise word lists and pass your english tests in the classroom?

I could! In fact I always did very well.

Are you able to learn your grammar rules for the different verb tenses and recite them perfectly during class?

I could! In fact I always did very well.

Are you able to understand an English conversation without getting confused?

Hey, me too. I couldn’t either. I quickly got confused after the first couple of phrases.

Isn’t that frustrating?

Do You Know What You Are Doing Wrong?

It’s great to be the top of the class…. But it’s even better if you can understand a native english speaker without getting confused.

So what are you doing wrong?

You’re learning classroom English and NOT real English. You don’t learn real English by learning words or rules.

You learn real English by listening to english conversations and stories again and again. Results don’t happen overnight though.

It takes time. But by listening you will learn to understand real english.

Text book english is not the best way to learn real english. Native people learn to understand their own language as youg children by listening.

Why Do You Want to Learn to Speak English

So You Want to Learn to Speak English?

Do you know why you want to learn to speak English?

Do you know why you have failed to learn to speak English after many years of trying?

You may have already spent $1000′s on English classes, teachers, online courses, etc…… but you still can’t speak English.

Whose Fault is That?

Okay, may be the teachers weren’t the best; may be the courses used traditional teaching methods….

But may be there is another reason.

Have you ever asked yourself the question….

Could it Be Me?

What? My fault? No way!

But wait a minute. Rather than blame everything and everyone else for not learning to speak English, have you taken a good look at yourself?

Now I am not asking you if you worked hard enough OR did your homework every week OR learned all the boring grammar rules that were given to you……

I’m asking you IF you know the reason why you need to learn English?

Let me ask that again….

Do You Know The Reason Why You Must Learn To Speak English?

Without a powerful reason why, you will not succeed.

I am being serious.

If you don’t know your end game (dream job, travel the world, make new friends), you won’t get past GO!

Think about that for a minute. If you are learning to speak English by just going through the motions (because everyone else is doing it), then you will fail PERIOD.

Find out your reason why.

It may be just the difference between you making a huge change in your life OR a life of English Speaking misery.

Learn English Idioms

Hi there!

To get to know a language properly, you need to understand that language’s use of idioms! Hmmm. Are you confused? – let me explain.

An Idiom – which means ‘Special Phrasing’ in Greek – is an expression that contains a figurative meaning but is unusual grammatically – an example is ‘Breaking the Ice’. The literal definition does not communicate any meaning.

The individual words that form the idiom do not convey the same meaning when they are used together as an idiom.

Idioms are present in almost all languages but they become meaningless when translated from the one language to another. As a result a person who does not know the idiom and only understands the meaning of the different individual words will easily become confused. This is supported by the fact that any non-native to the language will not be able to understand the idioms used.

WHY ARE IDIOMS IMPORTANT?

Idioms are a part of daily speech and used to convey a meaning quickly and are often easy to use and learn. You must learn, however, the group of words that form an idiom and recognise idioms when you hear them or read them. You must do this in order to use them in a context that conveys the underlying meaning that you wish to communicate. They should be used carefully in a way that they add flavour to your writing and speech; using too much, however, will result in diverting from the original meaning that it was intended for. There are often context clues in the idioms that suggest the hidden meanings.

SOME POPULAR IDIOMS USED IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

A fool and his money are soon parted - This means that people who aren’t careful with their money spend it quickly.

A pretty penny – Meaning to say that something is very expensive.

Ace up your sleeve – An ace up your sleeve is something that gives you an advantage that other people aren’t aware of.

Call a spade a spade - A person who calls a spade a spade is one who speaks frankly and does not conceal opinions or to spare the feelings of their audience.

Carrot and stick – If someone offers a carrot and stick, they offer an incentive to do something combined with the threat of punishment.

Make a killing – If you make a killing, then you are about to make a lot of money.

Make a mountain out of a molehill – If somebody makes a mountain out of a molehill, they exaggerate the importance or seriousness of a problem.

Safe pair of hands – A person who can be trusted to do something without causing any trouble is a safe pair of hands.

Salad days – The happy days in your life are referred to as the salad days.

Uncharted waters – If you are in a situation where you have no prior experience then you are in unchartered waters.
